What the Optimization Assistant Checks Before You Publish
The moment before you go live
Getting ready to publish your website can be nerve-wracking. A mix of excitement and “wait, is everything actually ready?”
SimDif has a helper for exactly this moment: the Optimization Assistant. Think of it like someone who has published thousands of websites looking over yours with a checklist before it goes live. Not to judge your work, but to catch the things that are easy to overlook when you've been focused on building.
How to use the Optimization Assistant to improve your website
When you tap Publish, the Optimization Assistant runs through your site and checks for common issues. These fall into a few categories:
Things that aren't set up yet
Have you added links to your buttons, so they take visitors somewhere? If you added a custom contact form, is it ready to receive messages?
Search engine details
Have you added the meta titles and descriptions that help Google understand what your site is about? Are your page titles filled in?
Missing pieces
Are there blocks waiting for images? Block titles that are still empty? Anything that looks incomplete?
The Assistant shows you what it found and offers suggestions. Some things might be quick fixes. Others might need a bit more thought.
Do you need to fix everything?
Here's something important: you don't need a perfect score to publish.
The Optimization Assistant is showing you opportunities, not requirements. If it points out something you're not sure how to fix, just tap on it. The Assistant will take you straight to the spot on your site where you can make the change.
Some suggestions will feel obvious once you see them. "Oh, I forgot to add a title to that page!" Others might not apply to your situation. Use your judgment. Fix what makes sense now, and know that you can always improve things later.
The goal isn't perfection. The goal is a website that's ready to help your visitors.
What if you're not sure about something?
If the Assistant mentions something unfamiliar, don't let it stop you. The Help section, the red button in the bottom left of the app, has explanations of almost everything. And the earlier letters in this series cover many of the same topics: titles, keywords, how visitors find you, common mistakes to avoid.
You can also come back after publishing. Your website isn't carved in stone. You'll keep learning, from the Assistant, from SimDif FAQs, from friends who visit your site, from the questions your visitors ask. Each of these becomes a chance to make your website a little better.
You're ready
The Optimization Assistant is there to support you, not to create obstacles. Take a few minutes to review what it shows you, fix the things that feel important, and then go ahead and publish.
Your website is ready to meet the world. And you can keep making it better as you go.
