How to Use Kai to Improve Your Website Content
Kai is an AI that starts with your knowledge
You might have heard that AI can write a whole website for you in minutes. And it can write a website. But it can't write your website.
There's a better way to use AI: not to create content for you, but to help you improve content you've already written. That's what Kai Step-by-Step is designed to do. It reads your pages, considers your site as a whole, and suggests ways to make what you've built work better for your visitors and for search engines.
The ideas are yours. Kai just helps you express them more clearly.
What Kai Step-by-Step actually does
You may have already used Kai Writer, the AI assistant inside the text editor that helps you polish your writing as you go. Kai Step-by-Step is different. Instead of working on one block of text, it looks at your whole page (and your whole site) to suggest improvements you might not spot on your own.
You'll find it behind the egg icon in the SimDif editor. It appears on any page with at least 100 words of content.
When you open it, Kai walks you through a series of steps. On every page, it can review your content and summarize what a visitor would understand from it. This alone can be eye-opening. Sometimes the message your visitors receive isn't quite the one you intended.
Kai can also suggest topics your page might be missing, offer alternative titles for your sections, and help you improve your page titles and search engine descriptions. For each suggestion, Kai offers a few alternatives in different tones. Your current text always appears alongside them, so you can compare and choose the one that sounds most like you.
On your homepage, Kai goes further. It can suggest pages your site might be missing, help you refine your site title, and even generate available domain name ideas if you haven't chosen one yet.
When to use Kai Step-by-Step (and when to use Kai Writer)
These two AI tools serve different purposes, and they work well together.
Kai Writer is for the moment of writing. You're working on a block of text and you want to check your spelling, adjust the tone, or turn rough notes into polished sentences. It's your writing companion.
Kai Step-by-Step is for looking at the bigger picture. For when you've written your content, and want to make sure it's working as well as it can for your visitors and for search engines.
A good approach is to write and polish your content first, using Kai Writer if it helps, then open Kai Step-by-Step to review the page as a whole. You might discover that a section title could better match what people search for on Google, or that your page is missing a topic your visitors would expect to find.
You don't need to accept every suggestion
Kai offers ideas. You decide which ones fit.
Some suggestions will feel immediately right. You'll read an alternative title and think, "Yes, that's exactly what I was trying to say." Others might not match your voice or your situation. That's fine. You know your business and your visitors better than any AI can.
This is what makes Kai different from tools that try to write everything for you. It works with what you've already created. Your voice stays yours. The AI is there to help you refine it, not replace it. You can learn more about how Kai works here.
Start with the page that matters most
You don't need to review your entire site in one sitting. Open Kai Step-by-Step on your homepage, or on whichever page you think visitors land on most often. Work through the steps, consider what Kai suggests, and make the changes that feel right.
Then, when you have a few minutes another day, do the same for the next page. Your website improves one small step at a time, just like everything else you've built so far.
