How to set up a Google Business Profile for maps and local searches
A Google Business Profile is a listing that shows your business on Google Maps and in local search results. It displays your opening hours, location, photos, reviews, and a link to your website.
If you have a physical location or serve customers in a local area, a Business Profile and a website work together: the profile helps people find you, and your SimDif site gives them the full picture.
Create your free profile
1. Go to business.google.com and sign in with a Google account.
2. Enter your business name, category, and location.
3. Add your contact details and your website address.
4. Verify your business. Google usually does this by sending a postcard with a code to your address, or sometimes by phone or email.
Once verified, your profile can appear when people search for your business name, or for your activity in your city or region.
Connect your profile and your website
• Add your SimDif website address to your profile so visitors can learn more about you.
• Use the same business name, address, and phone number on your profile and on your website. Consistent details help Google trust the information.
• You can also add a map to your contact page, so visitors on your site can see exactly where to find you. Once your business is verified, your name and details will appear on that map too, not just an address pin.
Note: Google reviews appear on your Business Profile, and replying to them shows visitors an active, attentive business.
A complete profile and a well-organized website reinforce each other. Each one gives Google, and your future customers, more reasons to choose you.
