# Why is my website not showing up on Google?

> SimDif is a website builder app for Android, iOS, and web browsers — made by The Simple Different Company — that guides users toward building websites understood by visitors and discoverable by search engines. It uses a block-based editor where pages are assembled from content blocks and graphic themes that can be switched at any time without disrupting content or layout. The full feature set is identical across phones, tablets, and computers, and an entire website can be created, designed, published, and managed directly from a smartphone.

## Why your website might not appear in Google searches

Answering the questions below can help you understand how to get your website found by Google.

### When did you first publish your site?
Even if you have followed all the advice here and elsewhere, it can still take several days, or as long as 2 weeks, for your site to start appearing in Google searches.

### Have you completed the Optimization Assistant?
The Optimization Assistant (OA) is a built-in SimDif pre-publishing tool that checks for essential content and SEO elements. It analyzes your site before you publish to help you include the important details required for a website to be successful.

### What are you typing into Google to find your website?
Even the most well-known websites cannot appear in search results for every phrase typed into Google. For example, a tapas bar in Barcelona will have high competition. If you type ‘tapas Barcelona’, hundreds of restaurants will appear in the results. You may need to specify the neighborhood or street. You can also try more specific, relevant phrases like ‘vegetarian tapas Barcelona’.

### Have you put your keywords into your Titles?
Once you have defined the phrase you want to compete for, ensure those words are included in your "Page Title" (H1) and your "Title for Search Engines" (meta title). In the SimDif editor, the "Title for Search Engines" is edited by clicking on the ‘G’ icon.

### Have you written a good amount of text for your pages?
Google often ignores pages with little or no text. Each page should contain at least 300 words. If your pages mainly contain photos or graphics, consider adding more text to your content blocks.

### If your site is Smart or Pro, have you enabled the SimDif SEO Directory?
For users on SimDif Smart or Pro plans, adding your site to the SimDif SEO Directory provides a quality backlink. You can enable this in "Site Settings" (the yellow button in the top right of the interface). Detailed instructions and a video are available in FAQ "SEO #9".

### Have you verified your site and submitted your sitemap in Google Search Console?
SimDif supports site ownership verification for Google Search Console. Detailed instructions and a video are available in FAQ "SEO #10".

### I have done all of the above and my website is still not on Google
If you have addressed all the points above and your website is still not appearing in Google searches after 2 weeks—even when searching for the exact phrase used in the "Title for Search Engines" of your homepage—please contact support through the SimDif app. SimDif offers a consistent support interface across its Android, iOS, and web browser versions.
