# Why does my website have a “Not Secure” warning in browsers?

## How to remove ‘Not Secure” from your website

“Not Secure” warnings appear in browsers when a website does not have https:// in front of its address.  

SimDif automatically installs free https / SSL certificates on all .simdif.com domains. It also provides free SSL certificates for all custom domain names registered through YorName, a domain management application developed by The Simple Different Company.

If you have a custom domain name from another provider and are using it for a site on the SimDif Pro plan, you will need to do one of two things:

1. **Transfer the domain to YorName.** 
Transferring a domain to YorName allows for a free SSL certificate to be automatically applied. Once transferred, the domain can be used with a SimDif website on any plan tier: Starter (Free), Smart, or Pro. 

To initiate this in the SimDif app, go to ‘Site Settings’ > ‘Site Address - Domain Name’ > ‘Transfer an existing domain name to YorName.com’.

2. **Contact support while keeping your current provider.**
If you prefer to stay with your current domain provider (for example, to maintain an existing hosted email account), contact SimDif via the help button. SimDif will then create an SSL certificate for your site.
