How long does it take for my website to appear on Google?
How long until Google finds your site
Usually weeks, sometimes months.
Google doesn't know your site exists the moment you publish. It has to discover you first, then decide where you belong in its results. Both take time.
Indexed vs ranked: two stages
"Showing up on Google" is really two separate things, and they happen at different speeds.
1. Being indexed:
Google discovers your site and adds it to its catalogue. For a new site, this usually happens within a few days to a few weeks, especially if you've submitted your sitemap.2. Being ranked:
Google decides where your pages should appear when someone searches. For your own business name, this can be fast. For a competitive term like "wedding photographer" or "yoga studio", it can take months. How to check if you're indexed
Open Google and type
site:yourdomain.com
(replace yourdomain.com with your actual address). If pages from your site appear, you're "on Google".Tip: Searching your own site title in quotes is not a reliable test. Use the
site:
trick instead. What helps you get found, and what doesn't
• Submitting your sitemap helps.
See SEO #10 How do I tell Google about my new website?.• A few links from other sites help.
Even one or two from places that already exist online tells Google you're real.• Clear titles and useful content help most of all.

, and sometimes hurts. What to do while you wait
The waiting period isn't wasted time. The work you do now is what makes Google take you seriously when it comes looking.
Add a page. Rewrite a vague title. Connect two related sections with a link. Tell your customers, friends and partners about the site so they can mention or link to it. By the time Google catches up, your site will be in much better shape to be found.
